The Main Line Chamber Foundation Presents Scholarships to Manoa Fire Company Volunteer Firefighter
Wayne PA, July 13, 2007 — Joe McCarthy, Jr., a volunteer firefighter at the Manoa Fire Company, is congratulated and presented a scholarship award of $1,000 to continue his college studies by Matt Donahoe, Board member of The Main Line Chamber Foundation. Manoa Fire Chief Mike Norman and Manoa Fire Company Crew Association President Andrew Coll are also pictured for the scholarship presentation. McCarthy is a graduate of Monsignor Bonner High School and attends Delaware County Community College. As stated in his scholarship application, McCarthy said, “I love being a firefighter. I give the majority of my life to the fire service…” McCarthy is among 17 volunteer firefighters awarded scholarships in 2007 by The Main Line Chamber Foundation.
The Volunteer Firefighter/EMT Scholarship Program is part of a special project initiated by The Main Line Chamber Foundation to increase public awareness of the acute need to support, retain and recognize volunteer firefighters/EMTs on the Main Line.
